Like so many of their contemporaries, Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock turned to pared-down minimalism and easy silhouettes for spring. Colorblocked separates were infused with a touch of exotic whimsy in the form of layered bangles, wide black headbands, and lace-up Roman wedges. Buhai and Mayock shifted the focus from the legs to the shoulders with plunging halter dresses and ankle-length skirts. If the playfulness of previous seasons was missing, there was a newfound elegance that was almost as promising.
