BCBG Max Azria Spring 2011

Friday, September 10, 2010

At BCBG, the Greek goddess theme never seems to get old. Not that that's a bad thing: On the contrary, the Max Azrias have perfected the simple, strappy sandals, draped jersey dresses, and slicked-back buns to a tee. For spring, the design duo kept the silhouette short, sweet, and breezy. A procession of airy white numbers devolved into a multitude of brightly colored shifts before culminating in a series of loose-fitting LBDs. The result was an upbeat, youthful collection that could easily be envisioned on the Sienna Millers of the world. Eyelet overlay, swingy sashes, translucent hems, and layers of sheer chiffon added just enough complexity to a basic silhoutte. Though they may not be avant-garde geniuses a la Lacroix, there's something to be said about Max Azrias' signature brand of fresh prettiness.
