Versace Resort 2011

Donatella Versace had the sixties on the brain when she designed a mod, retro collection fit for today's fashion-forward, futuristic fembots. Graphic prints and electric neons conjured a sleek, space-age glamour accentuated by Balenciaga-esque bondage sandals, sharp streamlined suits, and stretchy mesh dresses. Boxy handbags, stiff collars, and multiple flap pockets added utilitarian appeal. In particular, a slinky backless number was an unexpected, provocative take on the classic black gown. Once again, Versace made modernism sexy with an uncoventional, vibrant, and thoroughly covetable collection.
