Stella McCartney Resort 2011

Monday, June 14, 2010

McCartney hopped on the sportswear bandwagon with structural separates and military ponchos. With florals, however, she took an unexpected approach; rather than the traditional springtime chiffons, oversize flowers adorned round-shouldered, architectural shifts. Eyelet shorts, lace tees, and slim crops gave the collection a summery ease that balanced the minimalism of pronounced shoulders and stand-up collars. The designer's penchant for asymmetry appeared in the hems or necklines of dresses - and sometimes both. The collection was classic McCartney, showcasing her attention to detail, knack for proportions, and subtle flair for the exotic.
