Collette Dinnigan Resort 2011
Saturday, June 12, 2010
Collette Dinnigan showcased sweet, summery dresses perfect for a sunny brunch or garden party. Full-skirted floral frocks, sheer lace overlay, and sweetheart necklines lent the presentation a lighthearted appeal uncommon in a season of black leather and studs. However, even if Dinnigan aired on the side of prim-and-proper, there was a lightness of touch that prevented the collection from being too uptight. An embellished shift, for example, played it safe with an innocent blush hue and simple silhouette, but was glitzed up with silver sequins and cut mid-thigh to expose miles of leg. Even the most demure of lace dresses was subtly contoured and fitted at the waist. Thanks to Dinnigan's attention to detail, the collection was at once sophisticated and playful.
