Doutzen Kroes made quite the entrance in a vivid coral Calvin Klein Balenciaga dress - a typical choice for the Dutch stunner, who possesses a penchant for tailored minimalism and beautiful drapery. The accessories, however, added an unexpected edge to the otherwise fresh, simple ensemble. Chain-link Lanvin heels and glossy black nails were rock-diva glamorous, while a blue snakeskin clutch contrasted perfectly with the bright orange hue. A sleek gold bangle and even sleeker (also gold) updo spelled futuristic goddess. The makeup was flawless - black-rimmed eyes, impossibly long lashes, tapering brows, porcelain complexion, and peachy nude lips. Pardon the cheesiness, but she looked like she'd climbed straight out of her Eternity ad (minus Gabriel Aubry, unfortunately). In the midst of overcomplicated red carpet attire, Kroes made a statement with simplicity and let her beauty take the spotlight.
Steven Meisel shoots Gisele Bündchen in two startlingly different portraits for the campaign. One depicts the supermodel in a Kate Moss-esque wig with a color scheme that lends it a vaguely vintage-y appeal. The other shows a barely recognizable Gisele accompanied by an unrecognizable Yuri Pleskun, shot in stark black and white. It might be unconventional, but it isn't particularly riveting or creative. But the true test of a campaign is whether it sells the product, and that remains to be seen this coming February.
