1. Lace
From the cheeky aprons at Phillip Lim to the neon skirt suits at Christopher Kane, almost every designer sent their own variation down the runway. The traditionally stuffy fabric was more risqué than reserved when worn solo in a second-skin silhouette. Though several of the more daring propositions were strictly exclusive to the catwalk, more wearable options abounded. Used as an overlay, lace transitioned well from runway to real life.
