Matcha at Mr. B. Bakery
Friday, June 24, 2016
Continuing with the trend of east-meets-west, Mr. B in Beverly Hills offers a fusion of Asian flavors and European favorites (at American prices). Hence a matcha bagel with chocolate chips, mango tea with popping boba, and toast dyed to resemble a watermelon. While the café's scored high on the cutesy factor, in terms of taste and texture, the pastries were your standard Asian bakery fare. (Hint: you can find all these goodies for half the price in Monterey Park or San Marino, but it'll cost you some waiting in LA traffic.) The verdict? Aside from a few bites of the matcha and mango bagels I purchased (plus free samples of cheese bread and cookie), not worth breaking my juice cleanse.
